Serving trays

Our wooden trays are simple objects that facilitate the transition between the kitchen and the table. Trays accompany everyday gestures: they carry a hot dish, a glass, a dessert or a bowl without noise or unnecessary fuss. Their presence facilitates movement and clarifies the rhythm of service without ever being intrusive.

In everyday life, a rectangular tray travels from the countertop to the living room, from the garden to the dining room. The same tray is used at lunch to present cakes and fruits, then at aperitif to serve cheese, bread, or a small bowl of crunchy vegetables. The rectangular shape of the tray adapts to the meal as well as to the size of dinnerware and plates.

Before becoming a finished product, each tray begins as a piece of wood observed in the workshop. The choice of material, its drying and grain determine the size, thickness and color of the future tray. Time and patience prevent tension in the wood and give the tray lasting stability suitable for daily use.

The work is done by hand: cutting, progressive sanding, then oiling at the right moment to reveal the texture and natural shade of the wood. The edges are softened, the surface remains matte. The desired balance is as much about functionality as it is about aesthetics: a practical, silent, and durable object.

These trays find their place throughout the house: kitchen, living room, dining room or garden. They can serve as a serving tray, but can also become a simple decorative element placed on a piece of furniture between uses.

Wipe after use, avoid standing water and abrasive detergents. A thin layer of cooking oil applied occasionally protects the surface and revives the wood. Store away from moisture and strong heat sources.
