Coaster

A solid wood coaster is first and foremost a table object, designed for everyday life. It accompanies a glass of wine, a cup of coffee or a cold drink placed on the living room coffee table, desk or home bar. Its function is simple: to protect the furniture while remaining discreet. Solid wood is selected for its density, grain and texture. Before shaping, it is observed, then left to dry for a time to avoid internal tensions. This patient approach guarantees a stable material, capable of withstanding the moderate heat of a hot glass without deforming.

Each piece is worked by hand: cutting, progressive sanding, then oiling at the right time. The finish remains matte, soft to the touch, revealing the natural grain. A discreet non-slip support can be added to the base to prevent slipping. The wood then reveals a calm expression, between robustness and finesse.

Wipe after each use, avoid prolonged immersion and abrasive products. A thin layer of cooking oil applied from time to time preserves the patina and texture. Do not put in the dishwasher.
