Appetizer Platters

Our appetizer boards made of wood are primarily a service product before being a decorative object. Placed in the center of the table, each board discreetly accompanies the meal, aperitif, or appetizer dinner. Whether for cheese, cured meats, or vegetables, it enhances their flavor and taste without masking them. Its natural color, sometimes light, sometimes darker, speaks to the material itself rather than a desired effect.

These appetizer boards can serve as a tray for a night out with friends, a home-cooked lunch, or a more formal meal. You cut pieces of sausage or cheese, arranging them near some dry bread, an olive, or a small crudité. Each mouthful is savored slowly, glass in hand, in a simple rhythm of tasting.
Sometimes, an engraving adds a personal touch, without altering the wood's balance or drawing attention away from the contents.

The wood is selected for its density, grain, and texture. Before shaping, it is observed, sorted, and then left to dry for a period of time. This waiting period prevents internal stresses and ensures a stable material in use. The choice of fibers determines the board's durability when used throughout the year.

Each product is made through a repeated gesture: sawing, sanding, then oiling at the right moment. The finish remains matte and soft to the touch. This precision in manufacturing allows the wood to maintain its balance when faced with warm preparations taken from the oven or cold foods.

Wipe dry after use, avoid standing water and abrasive products. A thin layer of food-grade oil applied occasionally preserves the texture and patina. Do not put in the dishwasher.

These wooden appetizer boards are part of a range of turned and assembled objects made in France using traditional craftsmanship. They are designed as a lasting creation, made to be shared at the table for a long time.

Made in France

Our "Made in France" appetizer boards are designed as true objects of sharing, simultaneously functional, aesthetic, and durable. Made in French workshops rooted in areas with a strong woodworking tradition, they are part of a local approach that values regional resources, limits unnecessary transportation, and preserves artisanal savoir-faire passed down through generations.

Handmade

Each board is handcrafted by experienced carpenters who work the wood with precision and sensitivity. The material is carefully planed, adjusted, and polished to obtain a smooth surface, pleasant to the touch and perfectly suited for food service.

The natural grain of the wood is highlighted rather than concealed, giving each piece a unique character. Two boards may share the same essence, but no two will be strictly identical.

In contrast to standardized industrial products, these creations bear the mark of artisanal craftsmanship and the authenticity of a living material.

Eco-friendly products

We select wood from sustainably managed forests, where the preservation of ecosystems and the natural renewal of resources are priorities. Wood remains a breathable material that evolves and develops a patina over time, without the need for superfluous chemical treatments. This approach guarantees a healthy product that is environmentally friendly and durable. By choosing a solid wood aperitif board rather than a plastic or synthetic slate support, you are opting for a noble, warm material that is consistent with a convivial and responsible table setting.

Maintaining your charcuterie board

For maintenance, a simple cleaning with lukewarm water and a soft sponge is sufficient. It is recommended to dry the board immediately to prevent prolonged moisture absorption. Dishwashers and abrasive cleaners should be avoided to preserve the quality of the wood. Occasional application of food-grade oil, such as linseed oil or special wood oil, will nourish the surface, revive colors, and extend the life of the board. For small marks or light scratches, very fine sanding can easily restore the surface's luster.

With minimal but regular maintenance, your aperitif board will gain character over time and will accompany your shared moments for a long time. It will not just be a serving platter, but a living object that tells the story of the wood, the artisan's craft, and your table.
