Trivet

A solid wood trivet is a table piece made to last. It protects the surface, accompanies the service, and holds a hot dish without disrupting the rhythm of the meal. Round or square, with or without engraving, it remains a simple, useful object, rooted in the home and in daily life.

It is placed between the dishes and the table, under a Dutch oven, a cast iron dish, or a ceramic dish, sometimes next to a glass. Its function is clear: to protect the furniture, prevent heat marks, and secure the service. Depending on its shape, it can accommodate a square dish as well as a wider plate. An engraving can add a subtle touch; it's up to you to choose the word, logo, or phrase.

The wood is chosen for its density and stability. Before shaping, each board is observed, sorted, then left to air dry. This choice of material prevents internal stresses and gives the trivet consistent strength. The grain texture, veining, natural hue, and final color are as important as its solidity.

Each piece is worked by hand: cutting, progressive sanding, then finishing at the right moment. The process seeks a balance between a practical object and a sober, almost silent presence. The surface is designed to remain stable, the edge to be pleasant to the touch, and the whole to remain resistant to repeated use.

Wipe clean after use, avoid prolonged immersion and abrasive products. A thin layer of food-grade oil, applied occasionally, preserves the patina. Do not put in the dishwasher.

The result? Durable, elegant, and responsible coasters that bring a touch of authentically French culinary design to your table.

Handmade

Our Made in France trivets are designed as true everyday objects: useful, durable, aesthetic and built to last far beyond a simple protective function. They are part of a local and controlled approach that limits unnecessary transportation, values local resources, and keeps artisanal know-how alive.

Eco-friendly products

We have chosen natural, durable and renewable materials. Our wood comes from sustainably managed forests, where biodiversity preservation and resource regeneration are priorities.

No unnecessary chemical treatment: the wood breathes, evolves and naturally patinates over time. Local manufacturing also helps to reduce the carbon footprint by limiting unnecessary transport.

By choosing a solid wood trivet rather than plastic or silicone, you are making a more responsible choice, while adding a warm and authentic touch to your table.

These trivets are designed to effectively protect your surfaces from hot dishes, pots and casseroles, while remaining elegant and discreet when not in use. Their stability and robustness make them reliable everyday objects as well as for special occasions.

Maintaining your wooden trivets

They are easy to care for. Clean them with lukewarm water and a soft sponge, then dry them immediately to preserve the wood.

Avoid dishwashers, prolonged soaking, and abrasive products that could damage the material. Once a month, apply a thin layer of food-grade oil (linseed, grapeseed, or special wood oil) to nourish the surface and extend their lifespan. If slight marks appear, very fine sanding is enough to revive the wood's appearance.

Well-maintained, your trivets will gain character and beauty over time, becoming durable, practical pieces imbued with true French culinary design.
